2019 Rifle Shoot Guidelines

Shoot for a Cause 2019 Match Overview

When: Saturday, November 2nd, 2019

Time: 08:00 – 16:00

2019 Divisions:

Division 01 – Black Powder Cartridge Military Rifles

  • Open to military black powder cartridge rifles in production prior 1900
  • Rifles must be in as-issued condition. No fiberglass stocks, special bedding (glass bedding, etc.), match triggers or other special accurizing are permitted
  • The match will be shot site and with black powder ammunition

Division 02 – Vintage Military Rifles – Open Site

  • Open to any military rifle in production prior to 1960.
  • Rifles must be in as-issued condition. No fiberglass stocks, special bedding (glass bedding, etc.), match triggers or other special accurizing are permitted

Division 03 – Vintage Military Rifles – Scoped

  • Open to any military rifle in production prior to 1960.
  • Rifles must be in as-issued condition. No fiberglass stocks, special bedding (glass bedding, etc.), match triggers or other special accurizing are permitted
  • A strap-on, lace-on or detachable wooden cheek-piece may be used if it was original to the rifle when used for sniping purposes.
  • Sights must be original issue optical sights with as-issued reticles or sights may be commercial replicas of as-issued optical sights.
  • Replica or non-issue sights may have only crosshair, post or post with crosshair reticles.
  • Scope mounts and rings may be original or reproduction replicas.
  • Scope rings may be sleeved or modified to accept a non-original scope diameter.

Standing Exceptions

  • Re-barreling with a barrel of as-issued dimensions is permitted. A replacement barrel must have the same exact contours and cuts as the original as-issued barrel.
  • Re-sleeving to restore a rifle to a safe, firing condition is permitted. The rifling of the sleeve must have the exact contours and cuts as the original as-issue barrel.
  • Replacement of a damaged part with new made “to original” spec replacement parts is ok. Ie. An Enfield Rifle that was sporterized and has been restocked in new made furniture that was manufactured to the original spec.
  • Parts that must be present to be 922 Compliant

Specific Exceptions

  • An Austrian Waenzl Rifle converted to center fire is approved for use
  • A Swiss Vetterli converted to center fire is approved for use
  • A reproduction center fire Winchester model 1866 is approved for use
  • Carcano, Chassepot and Dryse Needle Rifles are allowed in the black powder cartridge rifle division
  • AK-47’s must be built from a military parts kit and have the full appearance of a 1950’s AK, ie. dark wood furniture, slab sided magazines, etc.

Competition:

All three divisions will use a three-round competition with successive elimination of shooters

Division 01 – Black Powder Cartridge Rifles

  • Round 1 – All Shooters, 10 rounds, 5 minutes, 100 meters
  • Round 2 – Top 50%, 10 rounds, 5 minutes, 200 meters
  • Round 3 – Top 3 Shooters, 10 rounds, 5 minutes, 200 meters
  • Target – MR65, 37”x37” with an 18” Black

 

Division 02 – Vintage Military Rifles – Open Site

  • Round 1 – All Shooters, 10 rounds, 4 minutes, 100 meters
  • Round 2 – Top 50%, 10 rounds, 4 minutes, 200 meters
  • Round 3 – Top 3 Shooters, 10 rounds, 4 minutes, 200 meters
  • Target – MR52C, 12 ¾” x 12 ¾”, with an 11 ¾” Black

Division 03 – Vintage Military Rifles – Scoped

  • Round 1 – All Shooters, 10 rounds, 4 minutes, 100 meters
  • Round 2 – Top 50%, 10 rounds, 4 minutes, 200 meters
  • Round 3 – Top 3 Shooters, 10 rounds, 4 minutes, 200 meters
  • Target – MR52C, 12 ¾” x 12 ¾”, with an 11 ¾” Black

  • Registration / Match Fees
    • Compete in one Division – $50.00
    • Compete in two Divisions – $65.00
    • Compete in three Divisions – $70.00
    • Add at second rifle (Division of your choice) – $10.00
    • Buy your way into the 2nd round – $20.00
